Travel Safe with Satguru Travels

BG-New

The Coronavirus Pandemic has changed the way we live our lives. With many countries lifting their respective travel bans, a lot of us want to make that long-awaited vacation happen. While this excitement to travel is well warranted, it doesn’t mean you need to abandon all caution. It’s important to consider safety measures to keep you and your loved ones safe.

Life before the lockdown was very different- people travelled wherever they wanted to go for business as well as pleasure. While the corporates found ways around this and moved most processes online, the same can’t be replicated for vacations and trips. Avid travellers reminisced the good old days and people who had made plans almost a year in advance saw their dreams come crashing down.

Many countries have opened up their borders in this “new normal”. We know that Covid isn’t going away for a while and there’s only so long we can go without moving on and living our lives. The temptation to travel and visit your favourite destinations has been looming in our minds this past year and we decided that it was about time we helped people travel again.

All things considered, it’s time to start moving again. Let’s be responsible in our actions and create memories that we can one day fondly look back on. Working from home has changed work-life balance for many, so a vacation could really come in handy to take a break and recharge your batteries. Naturally, we want you to travel in the safest way possible while taking every precaution that’s possible. When it comes to health and safety, no one can help you better than yourself. Make sure you do your best to reduce any risk you face as far as your health is concerned.

Before travelling, here are some things to consider:

  • Do you have increased risk for severe health issues? If you are advanced in age or have certain medical conditions, you might want to postpone this trip.
  • Do you live with someone at risk? Carrying covid in your system to transfer it to someone you live with is a real risk that you must consider while travelling.

While travelling, stay safe:

  1. Avoid unnecessary contact with people unknown to you.
  2. Maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from strangers whenever possible.
  3. Avoid people who show symptoms of being sick.
  4. Wear a face mask when outside.
  5. Wash your hands before and after eating, after sneezing or coughing as well as after being outdoors for a while.
  6. Reduce contact with outside surfaces like railings or elevator buttons as much as possible.
  7. Avoid touching your face as much as possible.

Do your due diligence about the restrictions and guidelines that are in place wherever you’re going to visit. Being ready for whatever is coming is much better than landing there and dealing with tough scenarios totally unprepared. Make sure you carry hand sanitizers, face masks and a thermometer. These will prove quite useful when it comes to self-care.

Lodgings and Hotels:

While Hotels are doing all they can to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and safety are followed, it is up to you as a traveller to do some checking on the following:

  1. Cleaning procedures being followed.
  2. Staff following protocols like wearing a face mask, washing their hands.
  3. Social distancing is being maintained.
  4. Payments can be done without contact.
  5. Standard Operating Procedures if someone falls ill or displays symptoms of Covid.

Just remember, your health comes before anything else. Your precautions may save your own life as well as that of those around you. Good luck and travel safe.
